About ME
For the past 15 years, my experiences in the classroom, quality community projects, authentic digital stories and self learning has led me to staying in teaching internationally. My first international position started to be a founding teacher at the International School of Dongguan, China. Since then I have seen it grow into the accredited IB world school it is now. Next I moved to Dubai American Academy as an Innovation Teacher & Coach to build programs in technology integration in all areas of from artificial intelligence to virtual reality. During COVID, my learning community, the United Nations International School located in Hanoi Vietnam needed support beyond my role as an Innovation Coach. My tasks we're to help brainstorm, build and archive the amazing technology experiences for the students and teachers. My goal was to connect student solutions to the sustainable developmental goals using technology as an enhancement to learning and for service.
Next at Lincoln Community School in Ghana Africa in the role of the Middle School Theatre and Digital Design Teacher. I continued to build and personalize curriculum to prepare students for future. With the school community being so connected, the students connect to their audiences in lower grades to local creative initiatives. The opportunities to connect students to the real world, be creative and working with an incredible international staff has made this a lifestyle something to be happy about.
I look forward to this new school year at The International School of Aruba as the Technology Coordinator. In planning and invention of the Technology Program with International School Services focusing on balancing screen time, finding the helpers in the community and using technology for service.
My values......
I didn't grow up with a lot, but my mother valued education and I've been fascinated with how different people learn differently. I've been differentiating since I was a child and I do love unique stories. I only hope to give back to a community of good educators who value students and the future as much as I do.

MS/HS Digital Design & Film Teacher (5 years)
As an avid photographer and filmmaker, I always wanted to bring stories to life from paper to the screen. With the training from the Film Technologies program at Valencia College, video production has been apart of every single job I encountered in the ways of commercials, PSA's, short films, feature films, documentaries, presentations or community building projects. As the International School of Dongguan grew, it began with film classes, short films being produced and then connecting with a variety of schools in the region to host our first ever South China Student Film Festival. Students in Film classes learned all aspects of video production from scripting writing, lighting, audio recording, cinematography, acting, directing to editing a finished polished product.
Previously in Ghana Africa, the role of creating a new Digital Design program that includes, digital citizenship, photography, media production, editing to specific audiences and impactful documentary filmmaking has been the outcome to preapare the Sydney's to tell their stories. While modeling responsible technology use, MS and HS design students will be sharing how generative Artificial Intelligence can be used for good causes and poaitive messages. Students would go onto build a strong program and it included winning 8 awards at the Student Shorts International Student Film Festival In 2025.
Tech Innovation Coach (6 years)
As Dubai American Academy wanted to develop it's technology, design and Future Fluencies into a program that would most benefit their students, the Innovation program was started in 2017. In a very short amount of time, curriculum maps were created, lessons targeting skills students would need for the future, and computational thinking imbedded into the activities students would participate in. After a year the school would later receive an Outstanding rating from the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai. Later Dubai American Academy would also receive the award of "Most Innovative School of the Year" across all GEMS schools worldwide.
As the Secondary School (MS/HS) Innovation Tech Coach my role includes supporting technology integration in the academics, activities, school wide initiatives and facilitate student opportunities. With experience in brainstorming, planning, co-teaching, project management and celebrating educational memories, it will be an exciting time at UNIS.
Artificial Intelligence Teacher (5 Years)
As the DAA High School expanded it's 2019 elective choices, it was decided to create a team of Innovation specialists to design an Artificial Intelligence curriculum before expanding the class choices to allow for up to 100 students to be apart of the course which will then populate the Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence that opens in November 2019. The course focused on the history and ethics of AI, starting with the innacurate media perceptions before starting with basic Scratch & Python lessons before connecting to IBM Watson to develop AI solutions for global issues.
With the ongoing updates to Artificial Intelligence usage in Education, writing policy and providing workshops to parents, students and teachers have allowed for responsible use of these AI tools. In the current role, I hope to expand more workshops to the wider Ghana community and local schools.
Technology Integration Specialist (12 years)
Beginning as a Technology lab assistant, every educational institution would have a variety of needs with support of integrating technology in the classroom. As a teacher of keyboarding, business documents, web design, photography and computer skills with Seminole State College, these experiences prepared me for a 1:1 multi-platform classroom at Audubon Park Elementary. After founding ISD in China, creating technology policies as well rolling out managebac, google drive training, apple hardware and technology orientation, finding balance between technology and social development has always been a primary goal.
As an Instructional Design & Innovation Specialist, my role allowed me to help with Middle and High School students, teachers and leadership in finding best ways of enhancing meaningful technology in and outside the academic classes. Planning advisory training programs for students and teachers to 'play' before you pick, this led to personalized student innovation projects that we showcased at the Young Innovator's Exhibition.
Middle School Drama Teacher (5 years)
With a technical theater background from Valencia College, a few years in a variety of roles in local theater productions led to an interest in starting a Drama Program at the International School of Dongguan. Beginning with our first production we transformed the school's library for Alice in Wonderland with a cast & crew of 30 students who produced six shows. With the design and creation of our Blackbox Theater, many stage performances, dialogues, one-act plays, poetry slams, concerts, dances and student written plays would be created on a semester by semester basis after that.
In Dubai as the MS drama teacher with scheduled classes, the extra roles included being the Technical Director for years of Musicals and helping run drama workshops in the UAE and Kenya. In Ghana I directed Middle School Theatre classes and supported Schoolwide theatre.
Elementary Visual Arts Teacher (4 years)
Selecting, designing and building the Art curriculum at the International School of Dongguan, it allowed for exhibitions in the art gallery, online art portfolios and most importantly individual student growth as artists. Units included drawing, painting, ceramics, multi-media, textiles, art history, famous artists, photography, video production, digital art, tile mosaics and many more that supported the learning of the elements/principles of art.
Middle School Science Teacher (3 years)
With a passion for curiosity, research, data-gathering and experimenting, when the International School of Dongguan needed a middle school Science teacher, I volunteered enthusiastically. With units covering Earth/Space Science, Life sciences, Physical Science and Design process using the Next Generation Science Standards. Using a variety of lab equipment to conduct labs, reports, presentations and providing service learning opportunities outside the classroom. As a school we even hosted the ECO-Educational Conference where I led a workshop on Alternative Energy with visiting students and teachers.
Yearbook Chief Editor (5 years)
Beginning as an after school activity then as a formal class, the International School of Dongguan's Yearbook was student driven and staff supported. From the school's founding year in 2011, thousands of pictures were taken, edited, captioned and placed in layouts alongside stories to produce a published yearbook annually. Capturing every student, class, club, staff, faculty, celebration, holiday, field trip, service project and wonderful memories, our yearbook has been a highlight to every school year.
As the division photographer I would assist in the training and support of student photographers for the yearbook covering all events in the Middle School. In the current year I am teaching the Yearbook Class for High School using Photoshop, InDesign and Photopea to create the 2019-2020 "Caravan" Yearbook.
